It's DECORATING TIME! Yes, it's that time of year when we all get into the spirit of the holidays by decorating our homes and creating special gifts for our families and friends. Don't worry if you're busy, I know all about this challenge! Decorating and entertaining can be as simple or as intricate as you make them. If you're running all over the place trying to squeeze in work, family & friends, volunteering, activities and the like, RELAX! If trying to cram one more thing into your schedule makes you more stressed and less likely to be in the "holiday spirit"...forget it! Maybe this is the year that the cookies come from a mix (I just tried the Pumpkin Spice mix from Betty Crocker this week and the kids LOVED it!), or maybe the lights are on the bushes instead of on the second story of the house (Ask Dave about this one!), maybe the gifts are stuffed into recycled gift bags at the last minute (this is me EVERY year!), maybe the Christmas china stays in its storage box (this was me last year), maybe 1/2 of the decorations you usually put out are left in their boxes...who knows! But you know what, it's OK! Just a few well placed decorations, use clippings from the tree set into your favorite vase or bowl or placed on the mantel, stuff in a sprig of holly or a cluster of red plastic beads will create a very festive arrangement for little or no money and VERY little time! (Yes, it's also OK for you to use an artificial tree to save some time...I just can't bring myself to do it, but we may save some time and pick one out at a lot instead of trekking out to a farm and cutting it ourselves, you know I mean Dave, right?)
Just don't worry about making everything perfect, just be sure to take some time to sit down and enjoy your decorations with your family & friends, that's what Christmas is all about!
So if you're planning on following my directions and keeping it simple this holiday season and you need a container to leave out all year and stuff with those boughs during the holidays, look no further! The selection of containers at Willow House is amazing AND many of them are included in our December Sale, like the Eclipse Serving Platter, $29.96 (regularly $49.96) and the Hawthorne Hurricane, $18.96 (regularly $39.96)- they are 2 of my favorites, I have them on my mantel right now, empty...waiting for me to have a few minutes and some boughs to fill them! (The photo is my arrangement in the Eclipse Tray from last year!) Please let me know by December 15, if you would like to place an order...it WILL arrive by Christmas!
And as always, I can help make sure something you love under the tree for yourself on Christmas morning, I also sell the new Willow House jewelry collection and would love to share it and a catalog with you! Just circle what you LOVE, give the catalog and my phone number to SANTA and I'll take care of the rest!
